Uzbekistan Sends Humanitarian Aid to Afghanistan Ahead of Eid al-Adha

Uzbekistan has delivered nearly 200 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan ahead of Eid al-Adha, offering support to families affected by recent deadly mudflows and flooding.

The humanitarian cargo was transported to Afghanistan’s Balkh province and included essential food supplies such as flour, rice, sugar, pasta, confectionery products, vegetable oil, chickpeas, and instant meals, The Caspian Post reports via UzDaily.

The aid handover ceremony was attended by Uzbekistan’s Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev, Surkhandarya region governor Ulugbek Kasymov, and Balkh deputy governor Nurulhodi Abu Idris.

Officials described the shipment as a symbol of friendship, good neighborly relations, and mutual support between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.

Afghan representatives expressed gratitude to the president and people of Uzbekistan for the assistance and also conveyed congratulations ahead of the upcoming holiday celebrations.
