Uzbekistan will open an embassy in Georgia following high-level talks between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during the Uzbek leader's visit to Tbilisi.
The two sides discussed expanding cooperation across a wide range of areas, including politics, trade, investment, transport, transit, tourism, and cultural and humanitarian exchanges, The Caspian Post reports via president.uz.
Mirziyoyev also welcomed the development of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway corridor and proposed exploring its integration with the planned China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, a move that could strengthen regional connectivity and trade routes across Eurasia.
At the conclusion of the talks, Uzbekistan and Georgia signed a Declaration on the Establishment of a Strategic Partnership, along with 14 additional bilateral agreements covering various sectors of cooperation.
