Armenia, EU Sign Two Key Agreements at Landmark Yerevan Summit

Armenia and the European Union have signed two important documents during the high-profile Armenia-EU summit held in Yerevan, marking a new phase in their growing cooperation.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, European Council President António Costa, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

One of the key agreements launched a Connectivity Partnership, aimed at developing transport, digital, and energy links between Armenia and the EU. The document was signed by Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan and Director for the Eastern Neighbourhood and Türkiye at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood Adrienn Kiraly.

A second agreement, signed on a preliminary basis, establishes cooperation between Armenia’s Interior Ministry and the EU’s border and coast guard agency Frontex. It was signed by Armenian Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan and Frontex Executive Director Hans Leijtens.
