Armenian Flowers Dominate Georgia’s Market with Record-Breaking Imports

Armenia has strengthened its position as Georgia’s leading flower supplier after exports reached a record high in May.

Georgia imported 218.2 tonnes of flowers from Armenia during the month, valued at nearly $750,000. The figure marks the highest monthly volume ever recorded and highlights the growing demand for Armenian-grown blooms in the Georgian market, The Caspian Post reports via TASS.

Imports of cut flowers and flower buds from Armenia surged 2.9 times compared to May 2025 and jumped 89% from April 2026. The previous record was set just two months earlier, in March, when imports reached 128.9 tonnes.

Armenian flowers accounted for the majority of Georgia’s total flower imports, which stood at 341.7 tonnes in May. Other major suppliers included Ecuador with 89.3 tonnes and the Netherlands with 23.8 tonnes, while Kenya, Türkiye, China, South Africa, and Italy each supplied less than 10 tonnes.

Notably, the imported flowers were not re-exported. According to the data, Georgia did not ship any cut flowers or flower buds to international markets during May, indicating that the products were consumed entirely within the country.
