More than 362,000 voters had cast their ballots in Armenia’s parliamentary elections by 11:00 a.m. (GMT+4).
CEC spokesperson Anna Grigoryan announced that 362,657 citizens had voted as of 11:00 a.m., representing 14.48% of the electorate, The Caspian Post reports via Sputnik Armenia.
A total of 2,503,976 citizens are eligible to participate in the vote. The capital, Yerevan, accounted for 122,856 ballots cast during the first hours of polling.
The election features a crowded field of contenders, with two electoral alliances and 16 political parties competing for seats in parliament. Among the main participants are the Armenia Alliance, the Strong Armenia Alliance, the ruling Civil Contract Party, Prosperous Armenia, Enlightened Armenia, and several other political forces.
To enter parliament, political parties must secure at least 4% of the vote. Electoral alliances face higher thresholds: 8% for alliances of up to three parties and 10% for those consisting of four or more parties.
Armenia does not impose a minimum voter turnout requirement, meaning the election will remain valid regardless of overall participation levels.
