Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has met with Lu Mei, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Azerbaijan, to discuss deepening economic cooperation between the two countries.
“We welcomed the elevation of our bilateral relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership,” the minister wrote on X, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

During the meeting, the two officials reviewed key aspects of economic collaboration, placing particular focus on trade, industry, investment, energy, transport, and the digital economy. Both sides expressed a shared commitment to exploring new avenues for joint initiatives across these sectors.
A major point of discussion was the Joint Statement on the Establishment of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, signed during Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s recent visit to China. The statement is seen as a cornerstone document in advancing bilateral economic and trade ties and a framework for long-term cooperation.
