Azerbaijan has dispatched another shipment of oil products to Armenia, further expanding cross-border trade through regional transport corridors.
Some 971 tons of gasoline and 467 tons of diesel fuel were sent from Azerbaijan on June 26. The shipment includes 18 rail tank cars carrying AI-92 gasoline and eight tank cars loaded with diesel fuel, The Caspian Post reports via Report.
The cargo departed from the Balajari station operated by Azerbaijan Railways and is headed toward the Boyuk Kesik border station before continuing to Armenia via Georgia.
The latest delivery adds to a growing volume of fuel exports between the neighboring countries. To date, Azerbaijan has supplied Armenia with more than 14,000 tons of diesel fuel and over 4,000 tons of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline.
The rail corridor has also become an important transit route for goods moving to Armenia from Russia through Azerbaijan. So far, more than 34,000 tons of grain, around 8,000 tons of fertilizers, 133 tons of aluminum, 68 tons of buckwheat, and 414 tons of anthracite have been transported along the route.
