The Azerbaijan U-18 women’s national basketball team continued its campaign in the FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship Division B with a strong performance, claiming its second victory of the tournament.
Competing in Group D, Azerbaijan edged past Iceland in a hard-fought match, sealing an 86-79 win. The game showcased the team’s resilience and offensive strength, as they maintained control through the final minutes to secure the result, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
Earlier in the group stage, the Azerbaijani team defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina, while falling short against Ukraine and Lithuania in previous matches.
With two victories now under their belt, the squad is set to take on Kosovo on July 9, aiming to further strengthen their position in the group standings and advance to the knockout stage.
