Azerbaijan’s Baku State University (BSU) and Kazakhstan’s Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance academic cooperation and exchange.
The agreement was formally signed by BSU Rector Elchin Babayev and Zhetysu University Rector Yermek Buribayev, marking a strategic step toward strengthening ties between the two institutions, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
The MoU outlines a broad framework for collaboration, including the implementation of joint projects, organization of academic events such as conferences, exhibitions, seminars, symposiums, as well as short-term courses, internships, and scientific research initiatives.
The agreement also includes provisions for joint academic publications, the development of shared academic programs and syllabi, and mutual exchange of faculty, administrative personnel, and students at various levels, including undergraduates, postgraduates, doctoral candidates, and researchers.
Founded in 1972, Zhetysu University ranks 46th in the QS Asia University Rankings for Central Asia and is recognized for its commitment to innovation and regional collaboration.
