Azerbaijani-born swimmer Nusrat Allahverdi, competing for Türkiye, has been crowned world champion at the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships held in Romania.
The 18-year-old athlete captured gold in the men’s 50-meter breaststroke, clocking an impressive 26.98 seconds to secure the top podium spot, The Caspian Post informs local media.
The World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships is a premier international competition organized by World Aquatics for the world’s top young swimming talents, typically aged 16 to 18. The event provides a platform for emerging athletes to compete at a high level across various swimming disciplines, including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and individual medley.
The championships are held every two years and attract participants from countries around the globe, offering them an opportunity to gain international experience, set personal bests, and earn medals while representing their nations. The 2025 edition took place in Romania, featuring intense competition and showcasing the next generation of elite swimmers.
