The Armenian Foreign Ministry has announced that the complete text of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, signed in Washington on August 8, will be made public on August 11.
The ministry confirmed the publication date and shared footage of the landmark moment when Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov officially initialed the agreement, The Caspian Post reports via Armenian media.
The document, titled "On Peace and the Establishment of Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan" was signed in the presence of the leaders of Azerbaijan, the US and Armenian PM marking a significant diplomatic breakthrough in the long-standing conflict between the two neighboring countries.
The initialed agreement reflects the culmination of intense negotiations and is expected to lay the foundation for the normalization of bilateral relations, regional stability, and long-term cooperation.
According to the ministry's statement, the finalized version of the agreement-reached through direct talks with Azerbaijani counterparts-will be published publicly on the evening of August 11.
