Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan Deepen Bilateral Cooperation

Tashkent hosted a meeting between delegations from the governments of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

Issues of ensuring the practical implementation of the urgent tasks outlined by the heads of states for the further development of strategic partnership and allied relations between the two countries were considered at the meeting, which was chaired by Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, The Caspian Post reports citing UzA.

Special attention was paid to consistently continuing and strengthening the fruitful dialogue between the two countries. It was noted that the Treaty on Allied Relations, signed by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in August last year, will play a key role in achieving these priority goals.

Today, there is positive growth in all areas. In particular, trade volume has doubled over the past four years. Important joint projects are being implemented in various sectors of the economy.

It was emphasized at the meeting that the Heads of state had set specific tasks for the two countries’ governments to strengthen practical cooperation. There are all possibilities for this. The sides exchanged views on further expansion of partnership in trade, transport, energy, industrial cooperation, and agriculture, deepening interregional contacts, and further developing relations in cultural-humanitarian spheres.
