An international conference of think tanks titled “C6: One Region, Shared Future - Enhancing Strategic Dialogue” has been held in Baku, Azerbaijan, bringing together leading experts from across the C6 member states.
Organized by the Center of Analysis of International Relations, the event gathered around 60 participants, including representatives of major research institutions from Azerbaijan and Central Asia, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
Azerbaijan’s Role in Regional Cooperation
Chairman of the Board of the Center, Farid Shafiyev, highlighted that Azerbaijan’s accession to the Consultative Meetings of Central Asian Heads of State in November 2025 marked an important milestone in regional cooperation.
Following the opening ceremony, discussions continued in a series of thematic panel sessions.
From Dialogue to Sustainable Mechanisms
The first session, “From Dialogue to Sustainable Mechanisms: The Future of C6 Cooperation,” focused on the need for formal institutions and the effectiveness of flexible cooperation formats. Participants examined the role of think tanks in institutionalizing regional dialogue, coordinating C6 positions on international platforms, and transforming humanitarian cooperation into long-term frameworks.
Connectivity, Economy and Security
The session “Connectivity and Development: The Economic Dimension of C6 Cooperation and Sustainable Growth” addressed regional synergy and competition in the Trans-Caspian region and along the Middle Corridor. Experts discussed energy cooperation among C6 countries, investment opportunities and barriers, environmental challenges, and confidence-building measures.
The final session, “Regional Security of C6 in Conditions of Global Instability,” analyzed both shared and country-specific security threats facing the region.
