Xinhua Research Report on Opportunities for China-Central Asia Cooperation Published in Astana

The Xinhua Institute, a think tank affiliated with Xinhua News Agency, published a report here on Sunday titled "Championing the China-Central Asia Spirit: Achievements, Opportunities and Prospects for Regional Cooperation."

The report highlights the fruitful results of China-Central Asia cooperation, underscores the opportunities and challenges, and analyzes the prospects of regional cooperation, The Caspian Post informs via News.Cn.

In the new era, seven key areas have witnessed tremendous results in ties: economic and trade exchanges, infrastructure connectivity, energy collaboration, emerging sectors, development capacity building, mutual learning among civilizations, and peace and security, according to the report.

China and Central Asia have become good neighbors, friends, partners and brothers who share a common future, it said, adding that together, the six countries have opened a new chapter of amity, stability and prosperity across the Eurasian landmass.

China and Central Asian countries have forged a China-Central Asia Spirit of "mutual respect, mutual trust, mutual benefit, and mutual assistance for the joint pursuit of modernization through high-quality development," setting a model of regional cooperation for the world.

It is noted that China's high-quality development and high-level opening-up, as well as the new wave of technological and industrial transformation, have delivered significant opportunities for China-Central Asia cooperation. Yet, cooperation is also confronted with challenges such as unilateralism, protectionism, geopolitical risks, and non-traditional security concerns.

The report emphasizes that future China-Central Asia cooperation should be guided by the vision of building a community with a shared future for humanity, as well as the three major global initiatives: the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative.

The principles of mutual support, common development, universal security and everlasting friendship should be upheld, said the report. Together, the two sides should work to strengthen the foundation of a regional community with a shared future, open a new chapter of regional prosperity, build a shared shield for security and stability and compose a new symphony of people-to-people connectivity, the report added.
