Samarkand Named Cultural Capital of the Islamic World

During the International Forum “The Spiritual Heritage and Cultural Expression of the Islamic World: Calligraphy, Music, Poetry and Solidarity” in Samarkand, a ceremonial event was held to present a symbolic flag and statuette, officially recognizing the city’s status as the cultural capital of the Islamic world.

ICESCO Director-General, Dr. Salim M. AlMalik presented the symbolic signs to Samarkand region’s Acting Hokim Adiz Boboyev, The Caspian Post reports citing UzA.
