In a statement published on its official Facebook page, the ministry said staff from the Migration Department carried out “special immigration control measures” across the country, The Caspian Post reports.
The operations targeted individuals residing in Georgia without legal grounds, with officers inspecting multiple facilities and locations as part of a coordinated enforcement effort.
Those detained include citizens of India, Vietnam, Turkmenistan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Sudan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Jordan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Uganda, and Kenya, according to the ministry.
All detainees have been transferred to the Migration Department’s Temporary Accommodation Centre, where deportation procedures are now underway.
