Georgia's Kutaisi Airport Adds Venice as New Destination

Georgia's Kutaisi International Airport will soon offer direct flights to Venice, following an announcement by the Union of Georgian Airports (UGA).

The new route, operated by Wizz Air, is set to launch on December 2nd using Airbus A321neo aircraft.

“Wizz Air will operate Venice-Kutaisi-Venice flights twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The UGA has successfully concluded intensive negotiations with the airline. Tickets are available for purchase on the airline’s website.

Earlier this summer, Wizz Air restored its Madrid and Hamburg routes at Kutaisi International Airport, and in June launched an entirely new service to Lyon with twice-weekly direct flights,” reads the UGA statement.

The Union of Georgian Airports noted that Wizz Air has maintained its position as Georgia’s aviation market leader since 2022. In the first seven months of 2025, the airline served nearly 900,000 passengers in Georgia. During this period alone, Wizz Air operated approximately 4,800 flights to and from Kutaisi - a 9% increase compared to the same period last year.

The airline currently operates flights from Kutaisi International Airport to 24 destinations across 13 European and Middle Eastern countries.
