Tbilisi Protesters Clear Rustaveli Avenue Following Georgian Interior Ministry's Warning

The rally participants in Tbilisi have cleared Rustaveli Avenue in front of the Parliament building after receiving a warning from the Georgian Interior Ministry.

The ministry noted that the rally remained small, with the number of protesters insufficient to justify blocking the roadway, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

Earlier, the ministry had issued a statement urging demonstrators to vacate the road and reminded them of the recently enacted law tightening regulations on public rallies. Patrol police officers at the scene called on protesters to move from the roadway to the pedestrian section of Rustaveli Avenue to ensure unhindered traffic flow.
