Iran has ruled out abandoning its missile program or uranium enrichment activities and has rejected the prospect of direct negotiations with the US.
“We are ready to hold discussions to address concerns about our nuclear program, which we emphasize is entirely peaceful,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.
“A fair agreement could be reached on this issue, but Washington has set impossible and unacceptable conditions,” he said.
The foreign minister also underlined that Tehran would not engage in talks over its missile program.
“It would be foolish to give up our weapons,” he stated.
Araghchi reiterated that Iran will continue uranium enrichment and remains unwilling to enter direct dialogue with Washington.
“An agreement can be achieved through indirect negotiations,” he added.
Addressing the aftermath of Israeli airstrikes in June 2025, Araghchi said that the country’s enriched uranium “remains beneath the rubble of bombed nuclear facilities and has not been moved elsewhere.”
“Our nuclear infrastructure and equipment have been damaged, but our technology remains intact,” the minister emphasized.
