The Israeli regime’s military attacks have caused only superficial damages to the Natanz nuclear facility in Iran’s central province of Isfahan, the spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said.
Behrouz Kamalvandi said the uranium enrichment facility at the Fordow site in the Qom province is safe and unharmed after the Israeli regime’s military strikes on Iran, The Caspian Post reports, citing Iranian media.
He noted that Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Mohammad Eslami has visited the Natanz nuclear site in the central province of Isfahan, saying the facility has sustained superficial damages in the Israeli attack.
Incidents have occurred on the ground surface at Natanz site, the spokesman added, noting that the attack has not caused casualties at the subterranean site.
Kamalvandi said chemical and radiation pollution has been detected inside the Natanz site, but it has not spilled outside the facility. “We need to carry out decontamination inside the site,” he added.
