Israeli security services have issued a warning that Iranian intelligence agencies are attempting to recruit Israeli citizens via the internet, following the launch of Israel’s military operation “Lion’s Roar”.

The Shin Bet and Israeli police have reminded citizens not to engage with Iranian intelligence operatives or carry out tasks related to security on their behalf. Authorities are currently working to arrest suspects involved in cooperating with Iranian agencies, The Caspian Post reports via Israeli media.

So far, 16 incidents have been identified in which Israeli citizens were in contact with Iranian operatives and completed assignments. Criminal proceedings have been opened in these cases, with charges related to serious offenses against national security.

“Such actions constitute severe crimes against national security, punishable by lengthy prison sentences. Shin Bet and the police will continue to apply strict measures against anyone engaging with Iranian elements. Any suspicions of recruitment attempts should be reported immediately to Israeli security authorities and the police,” the statement emphasized.
