Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Alim Bayel, has met with Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to review bilateral cooperation and discuss future plans.
During the meeting, Bayel highlighted the high frequency of mutual presidential visits over the past three years-Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited Azerbaijan six times, while Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited Kazakhstan five times, The Caspian Post reports via the Kazakh Embassy in Azerbaijan.
The diplomats also reflected on the historic peace declaration signed on August 8, 2025, which resolved the long-standing conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Kazakhstan played a key role in the peace process by hosting negotiations in 2024 and facilitating the first shipment of Kazakh wheat to Armenia via Azerbaijan in 30 years, symbolizing renewed regional connectivity.
Additionally, the officials stressed the importance of further economic and industrial cooperation through a joint investment fund, as well as transport, logistics, and energy collaboration. They also discussed international and regional agendas, noting that Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are jointly contributing to shaping a new geopolitical and geo-economic framework in Eurasia.
