Trade between China and Kazakhstan is booming, with bilateral turnover jumping 46.6% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026 - a powerful signal of deepening economic ties.
Total trade reached $13.24 billion during the period, The Caspian Post reports via Chinese media.
The surge is being fueled by a sharp rise in imports from Kazakhstan:
China’s exports to Kazakhstan grew by 7.1%, totaling $6.44 billion
Imports from Kazakhstan skyrocketed 125.2%, reaching $6.8 billion
This imbalance highlights Kazakhstan’s growing role as a key supplier of resources and goods to China.
In March alone, trade turnover stood at $3.49 billion:
Exports from China: $1.91 billion
Imports into China: $1.58 billion
The upward trajectory isn’t new. By the end of 2025, total trade between the two countries hit $48.68 billion, marking an 11% increase compared to 2024.
With trade volumes climbing and cooperation intensifying, China and Kazakhstan are reinforcing their position as key economic partners across Eurasia - with momentum that shows no signs of slowing.
