EDB to Boost Kazakhstan Investment Portfolio by $2.5B

Deputy Chairman of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Ruslan Dalenov has said that the EDB is currently considering projects worth $2.5 billion in Kazakhstan, highlighting its active engagement in the country.

Dalenov made these remarks at the 2025 year-end press conference, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

He noted that the bank has already invested $9 billion in Kazakhstan, with $16 million provided as technical assistance. Under its 2022-2026 five-year strategy, EDB has reinvested $5.1 billion over four years, nearly half in industrial projects, a third in transport and energy infrastructure, and the rest in finance, agriculture, and other sectors. Annual investments consistently exceed $1 billion, with a record $1.5 billion in 2025.

Key projects include the expansion and modernization of the Karaganda power station ($310M), construction of renewable energy facilities including 10 solar and 3 wind power plants ($450M), and road reconstruction through national company KazAvtoZhol ($200M).
