Authorities in Akmola Region have opened a criminal case following a gas cylinder explosion at a café in Shchuchinsk, Kazakhstan.
The blast, which occurred overnight between February 26 and 27, left seven people dead and 13 hospitalized, with eight others discharged after treatment, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Emergency Response
Firefighters removed five gas cylinders and two oxygen cylinders from the burning café, preventing further explosions. Officials are now investigating the causes and circumstances of the incident.

A hotline has been set up for relatives and witnesses at the Regional Emergencies Department: 8 (7162) 51-42-98.
The criminal investigation is ongoing, with authorities conducting all necessary measures to determine accountability in the tragic accident that has shaken the Shchuchinsk community.
