Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has issued a decree relieving Tamara Duissenova from her position as assistant to the president.
Born in 1965 in the Chimkent region of the former Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic, Duissenova is a graduate of the Tashkent Institute of National Economy, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.
She launched her public service career in 2002 as vice minister of labor and social protection of the population, serving for four years before being appointed deputy governor of the South Kazakhstan region in 2006.
Duissenova served as minister of labor and social protection between 2013 and 2014, later leading the Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development for four years. She returned to head the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection in 2017.
In 2018, she was appointed secretary of the Nur Otan Party, and in 2019 became an external advisor to the president. Between 2020 and 2022, she served as assistant to the president, where she managed the department overseeing public appeals within the presidential administration.
In April 2022, Duissenova was reappointed minister of labor and social protection. By June 2023, she had been named deputy prime minister while continuing her ministerial duties. On September 2, 2023, she was officially designated deputy prime minister of Kazakhstan.
