Kazakh President Appoints New Ambassador to US

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has appointed Magzhan Ilyassov as the new Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United States.

In line with the appointment, Ilyassov has been formally relieved of his previous diplomatic posts, including his role as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and his concurrent accreditation as ambassador to Iceland and Ireland, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

This move is part of a broader diplomatic reshuffle. Earlier, President Tokayev signed additional decrees naming new ambassadors to Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and the Republic of Tunisia, reflecting Kazakhstan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its international diplomatic presence.
