Kazakh Rescuers Save Family of Four in Mountain Emergency

A family of four has been safely rescued in the mountains of Kazakhstan after going missing during a trip in the Almaty Region.

The group-two adults and two children-lost contact after leaving a recreation area near the village of Chundzha en route to Almaty, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The search operation was complicated by harsh snowy conditions and the fact that the head of the family’s phone was switched off. Rescue teams worked through the night, combing the area around the Bartogay Reservoir and using mobile tracking data to narrow down their location.

At around 5 a.m. (GMT+5), the family’s SUV was found stuck deep in snow on the Assy Plateau. Fortunately, none of the family members required medical assistance. Rescuers towed the vehicle back to a cleared section of the road.

Authorities are urging travelers to carefully assess weather conditions and road safety when planning routes through mountainous areas.
