Kazakh Women Archers Receive State Awards for First-Ever World Championship Medal

The Kazakh women’s national archery team, which earned the country’s first-ever medal at the 2025 Gwangju World Archery Championships, has been recognized with state honors.

A special ceremony was held with Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabossynov, joined by the athletes, coaching staff, and representatives of the national federation, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Head coach Bauyrzhan Zholdybayev was awarded the “For Contribution to the Development of Physical Culture and Sports” badge, while archers Adel Zhexenbinova, Victoriya Lyan, and Roxana Yunussova received the “Honored Sports Worker” badge. Azamat Ussimbekov, President of the Archery Federation of Kazakhstan, was presented with a Letter of Appreciation from the minister.

The team made history by securing the bronze medal at the 2025 Gwangju World Archery Championships in South Korea, marking a milestone achievement for Kazakhstan in international archery.
