Kazakhstan’s Healthcare Ministry has unveiled a comprehensive Public Health Development Concept running through 2029.
The initiative is part of the National Plan to build a resilient, citizen-focused healthcare system, ensuring equal access to high-quality medical services across the country, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
“The Concept includes integrated medical care, digital health solutions, strengthened human capital, and advanced medical research. Our goal is to increase life expectancy to 77 years by 2029 while reducing premature deaths from cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and chronic respiratory illnesses,” the ministry said.
Nine strategic areas have been identified, including modernized first aid, expanded access to care, high-tech and personalized medicine, improved medication support, and development of the domestic pharmaceutical industry.
A total of 168 activities and target indicators will be implemented at regional and national levels to achieve these objectives.
The Concept was developed in collaboration with leading medical experts, universities, and international organizations, including the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and UNFPA.
Kazakhstan had previously extended its Healthcare Development Concept to continue reforms and improvements through 2029.
