Kazakhstan and EU Set for Major Agreements - VIDEO

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has held an informal meeting with European Council President António Costa in Brussels ahead of high-level talks with European Union leadership that could further strengthen ties between Kazakhstan and the EU.

The meeting took place shortly after Tokayev’s arrival in the Belgian capital for an official visit. On June 23, the Kazakh leader is scheduled to hold negotiations at the headquarters of the European Council with António Costa and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.

Several important bilateral and cooperation documents are expected to be signed during the visit, highlighting the growing strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the European Union.

During his stay in Brussels, President Tokayev also met with Kazakh citizens studying and working in Belgium, discussing the country's development priorities and opportunities for the younger generation.

Addressing compatriots, the president highlighted the significance of Kazakhstan’s new Constitution, noting that it identifies education, science, and innovation as key pillars of the country's future development. He also encouraged young people to master foreign languages and expand their international experience.

The Brussels visit comes as Kazakhstan continues to deepen economic, political, and technological cooperation with the European Union, one of the country’s largest trade and investment partners. The upcoming talks are expected to cover a broad range of issues, including investment, energy, connectivity, digital transformation, and regional cooperation.
