Kazakhstan Assesses CPC Terminal Damage After Drone Attack

Kazakh Vice Minister of Energy Yerlan Akbarov has said that the government is evaluating the damage caused to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) system in Novorossiysk following a drone attack on November 29.

Akbarov emphasized that the situation is under special government control, but transit of Kazakh oil through CPC has not been interrupted, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

“One berth is fully operational, while the second is being reconnected to the system. At present, there are no transport restrictions,” he said.

Experts are currently assessing the damage to the offshore berth device. Regarding potential contacts with Ukraine, Akbarov noted that this falls under the foreign ministry and is being addressed.

The attack occurred on November 29 at 06:06 (GMT+5), when unmanned boats damaged the offshore berth device at the CPC marine terminal in Novorossiysk. The consortium noted that this is the third such incident - previously, the Kropotkinskaya pumping station and the marine terminal office near Novorossiysk were also affected.
