Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan Trade Tops $330 Million in First Half of 2025

Kazakhstan’s trade with Azerbaijan reached $331.7 million from January to July 2025, representing 0.4 per cent of the country’s total foreign trade during the period.

Exports from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan totaled $281.6 million, accounting for 0.6 per cent of the nation’s overall exports, while imports from Azerbaijan amounted to $50 million, or 0.1 per cent of Kazakhstan’s total trade volume, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakhstan’s Bureau of National Statistics.

Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan share strong historical, cultural, and economic connections as Turkic-speaking nations of the Caspian region. Diplomatic relations were officially established in 1992. Since then, the two countries have developed close cooperation in such areas as energy, trade, transport, education, and security.

Both nations are active members of regional organizations, including the Turkic Council, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which facilitates political dialogue and economic collaboration. Energy cooperation, particularly in oil and gas projects, has been a cornerstone of their bilateral ties, alongside growing trade and investment partnerships.
