Kazakhstan, Brazil Reaffirm Global Cooperation Ahead of BRICS Summit

Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu has met with his Brazilian counterpart Mauro Vieira in Rio de Janeiro ahead of the July 6-7 BRICS Summit, where both reaffirmed their mutual support for international initiatives and diplomatic candidacies.

Minister Nurtleu was received with warm hospitality by Minister Vieira, who welcomed the Kazakh delegation to Brazil, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Nurtleu expressed appreciation for the high-level organization of events under Brazil’s BRICS presidency, and extended his best wishes for the upcoming COP30 UN Climate Conference, scheduled for November 10-21 in Belém, Brazil.

The meeting covered a wide-ranging agenda, including the expansion of trade and economic cooperation, coordination within international organizations, and alignment on regional and global challenges.

The two sides emphasized the importance of strengthening political dialogue, increasing high-level exchanges, boosting interparliamentary engagement, and enhancing bilateral business ties through platforms such as the Kazakhstan-Brazil Business Council.

At the conclusion of their talks, Minister Vieira extended an invitation for Minister Nurtleu to make an official visit to Brasília, further underscoring the momentum in Kazakh-Brazilian relations. Both diplomats agreed to maintain regular and constructive dialogue moving forward.

The 17th BRICS Summit in Rio is expected to draw representatives from over 30 countries and international organizations, highlighting the bloc’s growing international profile and commitment to inclusive global governance.
