Kazakhstan, China Ink $15 Billion in Commercial Deals

Kazakhstan and China have signed commercial agreements totaling $15 billion.

More than 100 Kazakh and Chinese companies finalized over 70 commercial contracts during the Business Council meeting, covering sectors such as energy, digitalization, construction, metallurgy, telecommunications, transport, and logistics, The Caspian Post reports via the official website of the Kazakh president.

“This is an excellent result, and I am confident it will continue to grow. Kazakhstan is home to over 6,000 enterprises with Chinese capital, including global giants such as CNPC, CITIC, SINOPEC, and HUAWEI. Both large and medium-sized businesses are actively represented,” said Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during the council meeting.

President Tokayev also highlighted that China has already invested $27 billion in Kazakhstan’s economy and called for further strengthening of the Kazakhstan-China business ties in the financial sector.
