Kazakhstan, Estonia Explore Joint Plant to Produce High-Tech Heat Exchange Equipment

Kazakhstan and Estonia are considering the launch of a joint engineering and manufacturing enterprise in Kazakhstan to produce modern heat exchange equipment - including air-cooling units and shell-and-tube heat exchangers.

The proposal was discussed during a meeting between Kazakhstan’s Deputy Energy Minister Sanzhar Zharkeshov and Vadim Martynov, Director General of Estonia’s Tallinna Masinatehas OU, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

According to the Ministry of Energy, Tallinna Masinatehas OU, one of Estonia’s oldest machine-building plants, is a recognized leader in heat exchange technology across the Baltic and Northern regions. The company is known for its advanced designs and its ability to manufacture equipment that operates under high pressure, including units built from specialized steel grades.

The idea of localizing production in Kazakhstan comes as demand rises for modern industrial equipment in the country’s petrochemical, oil and gas, and agrochemical sectors. Market assessments show steady and long-term demand, creating favorable conditions to expand Kazakhstan’s domestic machine-building industry.

Both sides expressed strong interest in advancing the partnership, noting that a joint venture would boost local production capacity, deepen industrial cooperation, and create new jobs.
