Kazakhstan Eyes Boost in Agricultural Exports to Türkiye

Kazakhstan is looking to expand its agricultural exports to Türkiye, as both nations seek to deepen economic cooperation and diversify trade.

Speaking at the 14th Kazakhstan-Türkiye Intergovernmental Commission in Astana, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov highlighted strong growth in bilateral agro-industrial trade, which surged by more than 25% last year to nearly $360 million, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Bektenov noted that both countries are seeing positive momentum in agricultural cooperation and stressed the need to broaden the range of traded goods while developing joint production of higher value-added products.

Kazakhstan is particularly interested in increasing exports of key agricultural commodities, including wheat, lentils, green crops, and oilseeds, to the Turkish market.

To support this expansion, Bektenov proposed closer collaboration on veterinary and phytosanitary standards-seen as a practical step toward unlocking new export opportunities and ensuring smoother trade flows.

The discussions come as officials from both countries gather in Astana to explore new initiatives aimed at strengthening trade, investment, and long-term economic partnership.
