Kazakhstan has set up a special governmental commission to investigate the deadly fire that tore through a two-storey private home in the village of Algabas, Turkistan region.
The commission is led by Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev and includes top officials from the Ministries of Emergencies, Interior, Healthcare, Labor and Social Protection, as well as the Turkistan regional administration, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.
Authorities say all necessary support - including medical, psychological, and social assistance - will be provided to the injured and to families who lost loved ones. The regional administration has also been tasked with assisting to organize the funerals.
The government noted that the commission’s work is under special control.
The tragedy occurred early in the morning, claiming 12 lives, including 9 children.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his deep condolences to the families affected by the devastating fire.
