Kazakhstan and India are moving to strengthen their pharmaceutical partnership as the two countries pursue broader trade, investment, and infrastructure cooperation.
During a visit to India's Gujarat state, Kazakhstan's Ambassador to India, Azamat Yeskarayev, held a series of high-level meetings with regional leaders and executives from major Indian companies, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.
In talks with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the two sides agreed to expand trade, economic, and investment cooperation, launch direct Almaty-Ahmedabad flights, and develop joint pharmaceutical projects in Kazakhstan.
Discussions with Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat focused on boosting cooperation in agriculture, increasing exports of Kazakh agricultural products, and promoting new investment initiatives. The governor also invited Kazakhstan to participate in the next Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, scheduled for January.
The visit also highlighted growing investor interest from India's private sector. Representatives of the Adani Group expressed interest in entering the Kazakh market, with potential investments estimated at up to $5 billion. Proposed projects include infrastructure development, construction of a coal-fired power plant, and a state-of-the-art data center in Ekibastuz.
Ambassador Yeskarayev also met with leading Indian business organizations, including the ICC, FICCI, and GCCI, to showcase Kazakhstan's investment opportunities and strengthen business ties.
The visit featured a cultural program celebrating Kazakhstan's National Dombra Day, including a special presentation on the country's iconic musical instrument and its historical and spiritual significance.
