The Kazakh government has named Assylbek Akhmetzhanov as the new Vice Minister of Enlightenment of Kazakhstan.
Born on April 7, 1993, in Almaty, Akhmetzhanov graduated from Gumilev Eurasian National University and the Kazakh University of Technologies and Business, The Caspian Post informs per Kazakh media.
He launched his career in January 2016 at the Ministry of Investments and Development, later holding roles at the Ministry of Information and Communications (2016-2018), Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry (2018-2019, 2021-2024), Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (2019-2021), and the Ministry of Industry and Construction (2024-2025).
Most recently, since February 2025, Akhmetzhanov headed the Department of Architecture and Digital Transformation Policy, before stepping into his new leadership role within the Ministry of Enlightenment.
