Kazakhstan, North Macedonia Move Toward Visa-Free Travel

Kazakhstan and North Macedonia are exploring the introduction of a visa-free regime as part of efforts to deepen bilateral ties.

The issue was discussed during the third round of political consultations, where Kazakh Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Issetov met with Zoran Dimitrovski, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Both sides noted the steady progress in relations and exchanged views on regional and global developments.

Diplomats also highlighted the outcomes of recent high-level visits, including those by President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova and Foreign Minister Timčo Mucunski to Astana in 2025.

Talks focused on expanding cooperation across key sectors such as agriculture, energy, transport, tourism, education, and culture, alongside boosting trade and diversifying its structure. The possibility of easing travel rules for citizens of both countries emerged as a key topic on the agenda.

North Macedonia’s Foreign Ministry also congratulated Kazakhstan on adopting a new Constitution in the March 15 referendum, expressing confidence that ongoing reforms will support the country’s development.

Marking over 30 years of diplomatic relations, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and advancing joint projects.

In this regard, the diplomats welcomed organizing this April trade and economic mission of Kazakhstan in Skopje, within the framework of which the establishment of a Business Council between the Сhambers of commerce and industry is planned.
