Kazakhstan has opened a new Honorary Consulate in Serbia’s Jablanica and Pčinja districts, strengthening its diplomatic and economic presence in the Balkans.
The inauguration ceremony in the city of Predejane brought together Serbia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Nataša Rašević, local mayors, government officials, clergy, academics, and business leaders, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Serbia, Madi Atamkulov, highlighted that the new mission is strategically located along a major transport corridor linking Serbia with North Macedonia and Bulgaria. He noted that the consulate will help expand trade, investment, and regional cooperation.
Rašević welcomed the opening, expressing confidence that the consulate will boost business ties and create new opportunities at the crossroads of East and West.
Kristina Stojanović, a well-known Serbian entrepreneur, was appointed Honorary Consul.
The Predejane office becomes Kazakhstan’s third Honorary Consulate in Serbia, following the opening of missions in Belgrade and Užice. The two countries have recently accelerated cooperation, including the launch of direct flights between their capitals.
