Kazakhstan is gearing up for the start of the new academic year, with more than 4.1 million pupils set to attend over 8,000 schools across the country.
Kazakh Minister of Enlightenment Gani Beissembayev provided a comprehensive update on the preparations for the upcoming academic year, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
The minister revealed that around 4.1 million pupils will enroll in over 8,000 schools across Kazakhstan.
This includes 341,000 children starting school for the first time and 232,000 pupils progressing to the 11th grade.
A key highlight of this year’s curriculum is the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) in secondary education. AI topics have been integrated into Digital Literacy and Computer Science courses, alongside the launch of the “Day of AI” online program, designed for pupils from grades 1 through 11.
In line with presidential directives, the new “School of the Future” management model is being implemented nationwide. This initiative features updated management and accreditation standards and involves over 3,000 teachers who have completed intensive three-level training programs, preparing them to lead classrooms this year.
