Kazakhstan is rolling out a sweeping nationwide campaign to bring its new Constitution to life - from classrooms and media screens to legal reforms and public outreach.
The government has officially approved a comprehensive action plan to promote the Constitution adopted at the March 15, 2026 referendum, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
The decree was signed by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, signaling the start of a coordinated effort to ensure every citizen understands the country’s updated legal foundation.
At the heart of the plan are 36 measures grouped into three key pillars: organization, public engagement, and legal implementation.
Authorities will begin by making the Constitution widely accessible. This includes publishing and distributing copies across the country, creating formats tailored for people with disabilities, and translating the document into English. Digital access will also be expanded, ensuring the Constitution is available across major platforms.
Education plays a central role. Schools and universities are set to introduce new courses such as “Fundamentals of the Constitution” and “Law and Order,” alongside updated curricula and specialized teaching materials. Children’s editions, exhibitions, and academic projects are also in the pipeline to deepen understanding from an early age.
A large-scale information campaign will complement these efforts. Officials plan to launch a unified calendar of events and a broad media strategy featuring TV and radio programs, articles, documentaries, and social media content. Interactive tools will also be developed to help citizens better understand constitutional provisions.
On the legal front, the government will review existing laws and strategies to align them with the new Constitution, ensuring its principles are fully embedded in the country’s legal system.
The initiative aims to turn the Constitution into a living document - not just a legal text, but a widely understood framework guiding daily life and governance.
In a symbolic move, March 15 has also been designated as an annual Constitution Day, marking the adoption of the new Basic Law as a national holiday.
