Kazakhstan, Russia Coordinate on Strategic Agenda Before President Tokayev’s Visit

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Russian President Vladimir Putin have had a phone talk to discuss bilateral cooperation and preparations for Tokayev’s upcoming visit to Russia.

The two leaders reviewed progress on the implementation of key agreements reached during previous high-level engagements and emphasized the importance of advancing strategic ties between their countries, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

The phone call comes shortly after their meeting on October 10 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on the sidelines of the CIS Heads of State Council summit. During that meeting, Tokayev announced his official visit to Russia scheduled for November 12, at the invitation of President Putin.

Tokayev stressed that Kazakhstan places high importance on the visit, describing it as a significant milestone in the development of the Kazakh-Russian strategic partnership.

“It is expected to provide fresh momentum to our alliance,” he noted.
