Kazakhstan's Aktobe Region Sees Investment Boom in 2025

Governor of Kazakhstan's Aktobe region Askhat Shakharov has said that Aktobe is experiencing a powerful investment surge in 2025, attracting 892 billion tenge ($1.714 billion) since the start of the year - a 129 per cent jump compared to the same period in 2024.

Shakharov made these remarks at a Central Communications Service briefing in Astana, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

He said boosting Kazakhstan’s investment appeal and securing foreign capital remain key priorities set by the Head of State - and the region is delivering. This year’s investment volume is already 217 billion tenge ($417 million) higher than last year’s 10-month total.

Major Projects Already Launched

Eight projects worth more than 110 billion tenge ($211 million) have kicked off in 2025, including a flagship renewable energy initiative - ERG’s 150 MW wind power plant, a standout for the region’s green transition.

Another highlight is KazFelTec’s new deep-processing wool plant, a 5.3-billion-tenge ($10.185 million) investment turning sheep wool into construction materials, with a capacity of 2,100 tons per year.

What’s Next: Even Bigger Investments Coming

Four additional projects worth around 350 billion tenge ($672 million) are planned for completion by the end of 2025. In the coming years, Aktobe region is also preparing to launch major industrial facilities, including new urea, bitumen, and cement plants.

Investor-Friendly Zones

To support this pace, Aktobe has expanded its investment infrastructure:

Special Economic Zone “Aktobe” (858 hectares) at Aliya Moldagulova International Airport

National Industrial Zone “Khromtau” (150 hectares) for new manufacturing facilities

Shakharov added that he personally monitors all investment projects, with regular investment headquarters meetings ensuring rapid responses to investor concerns.
