Kazakhstan Secures $5.2 Billion in Investment Deals with US Companies

During President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s working visit to New York, Kazakhstan and the United States solidified their economic partnership through the signing of 11 investment agreements and memorandums of understanding.

According to Ruslan Zheldybai, Assistant to the President and Press Secretary, the deals involve major Kazakh and American companies and are collectively valued at $5.2 billion, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazinform.

The documents provide for $5.2 billion in investments into Kazakhstan’s economy and encompass strategic sectors, such as transportation, logistics, energy and IT.

The signatories include Kazakhtelecom, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), Samruk-Kazyna, KazMunayGas, and U.S. entities such as Amazon Kuiper, International Finance Corporation, Lummus Technology, ExxonMobil, Chevron, LanzaJet, Wabtec, and the U.S. Export-Import Bank.
