Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ) has announced that Kazakhstan achieved a historic milestone in coal exports, with railway shipments in June 2025 reaching the highest monthly volume ever recorded.
The surge was largely driven by Shubarkol Komir company, which exported 841,000 tons of coal via the national railway system in June. This marks a 26 per cent increase over the average monthly coal export volume for the year, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
KTZ attributed the achievement to the effective coordination between railway workers and all parties involved in the transportation process, highlighting the importance of operational synergy in meeting growing export demands.
In total, 1.2 million tons of coal were transported across the railway network during the month-an 11.1 per cent rise compared to June 2024. Of this amount, 326,000 tons were delivered to domestic destinations, while the rest was exported abroad.
