Starting January 1, 2026, Kazakhstan will implement mandatory licensing for exchange brokers and clearing centers operating on commodity exchanges.
According to the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition (APDC), this initiative aims to boost transparency, reliability, and fairness among market participants while safeguarding the interests of all parties involved in exchange trading, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
“The Agency advises exchanges to guide traders in advance and adjust application deadlines for buying and selling goods to account for the time required to obtain licenses,” the statement said. “This step will help avoid disruptions to trading at the start of 2026.”
Market participants have been urged to begin preparations early to ensure compliance. The APDC emphasized that timely licensing will be key to maintaining stable and uninterrupted operations in the exchange market, adding that it will continue to provide methodological support and oversight during the transition.
Earlier, the Kazakh parliament approved the 2026-2028 republican budget on October 22, underscoring the government’s focus on strengthening financial and market stability.
