Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy has reassured that oil exports through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) remain uninterrupted after a drone attack near the consortium's Black Sea terminal.
The incident occurred on July 17, when the oil tanker Nordic Zenith was hit by drones while approaching the port. According to the ministry, the vessel was empty at the time and had not yet loaded crude oil, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.
“The ship was en route to the port to load crude and was empty. The crew promptly extinguished the fire on their own. No casualties were reported. There is no threat to Kazakh oil,” the ministry said.
The CPC terminal's technological infrastructure was not damaged and continues to function normally, with oil loading operations proceeding as scheduled.
